Dr. Frank L. Hindle

New Brunswick, N.J., Feb 12 -- Dr. Frank L. Hindle, 54, Treasurer of the American Academy of Dental Surgery and former Secretary of the New Jersey Dental Society, died at his home here today. Dr. Hindle was born in Paterson, N.J., and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Hindle and two daughters survive. Services will be held at Christ Episcopal Church here at 2:30 Saturday afternoon.

Dr. Hindle Dies at 54
RED BANK — Dr. Frank Lawton Hindle, Jr., 54, of 145 Maple Ave. died yesterday afternoon in Riverview Hospital where he was a former director of obstetrics.
Dr. Hindle was born in New Brunswick, son of the late Frank L. and Catherine D. Hindle, Sr. He was a 1927 graduate of Rutgers University, where he was a member of Zeta Psi and Alpha Kappa Kappa Fraternities. In 1937 he graduated from Jefferson Medical College and, after serving his internship at the college hospital, started his medical practice here two years later.

   Dr. Hindle served on the staffs of Riverview and Monmouth Medical Center as associate surgeon from 1944 to 1953. In 1953 he was appointed associate attending obstetrician in both hospitals, and the following year was appointed attending obstetrician at Riverview. Dr. Hindle was director of obstetrics at Riverview from 1955 until last year. He had served on the hospital's medical board since 1953 and was chairman of the doctors' building fund committee for the hospital extension which was completed in 1958.

   Dr. Hindle was a member of the American Medical Association and the New Jersey and Monmouth County Medical Societies. He was also a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Winifred Gaw Hindle; two sons, David Hindle, at home, and F. Lawton Hindle, 3d, of Boston, Mass.; a daughter, Mrs. William H. Phillips of Berwyn, Pa., and a sister, Mrs. Albert T. Ellis of Pompano Beach, Fla.

   Services will be held tomorrow at 11 a. m. in Trinity Episcopal Church, with Rev. Charles H. Best, rector, officiating. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The Adams Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

FALMOUTH-- F. Lawton Hindle, 70, died Oct. 8, 2001, at a Portland hospital.

He was born in Plainfield, N.J., a son of F. Lawton Jr. and Winifred Gaw Hindle, attended St. Andrew's School and graduated from Rutgers University with a mechanical engineering degree.

He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Hindle worked for Moore Automation Solutions Inc. for 36 years in New York, Boston, Chicago and Canada. For 29 of those years, he was president of the Canadian subsidiary, and after retirement, he served on the board of the parent company.
