Welcome to my home page for descendants of Daniel Fink! Our Daniel Fink was probably born in Philadelphia. The family tradition connects this family to the documented Daniel and Peter Fink who came over on the ship Patience in 1749. Their brother, Michael immigrated in 1751 on the ship Janet.

This Daniel Fink, at about the age of 16, joined the Northampton Rangers during the Revolutionary War. His uncles had moved to this area earlier, but there is no record of Daniel Fink in the area until 1787 when he appears in Lynn Township, Northampton County. He married Elizabeth Weitzel there and started his family. In about 1805 he, and most of his family, moved with other families of the Lynn and Heidelberg area to Trumbull County, Ohio, mainly in Canfield (today Mahoning County) where Daniel purchased land. His oldest son, Daniel, Jr., stayed in Pennsylvania, possibly apprenticing. He moved to Ohio with his new family between 1816 and 1818.

From Ohio this family branches out into other Northwest Territory states and later to Missouri and as far west as Colorado, Nevada and California. I began my investigations of this family from a letter written in 1926 from my great-great aunt to my great aunt telling her about the family. You can read the transcription at Emma Davey Letter.

Daniel Fink and Elizabeth Weitzel had 7 children:
