Pocono Record, 11 February 2008Fred A. Strunk, 71, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Marie A. (Uccio) Strunk, with whom he had shared 26 years of marriage.
Born on May 28, 1936, in Analomink, he was the son of the late Samuel H. Sr. and Ruth (Ehrgood) Strunk and
had lived in Monroe County all of his life where he was a general contractor. A graduate of Stroudsburg High School, he was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army Military Police. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 1336, Stroud Township, and the Hit or Miss Gun Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed bowling and golf. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Troy Strunk and his wife, Shelly, of East Stroudsburg, Trish Strunk of Stroudsburg,
Kim Strunk of California, Lisa Musician of Kunkletown and Fred Strunk Jr. of Georgia; three brothers, Ronald C. Strunk of Analomink, Harold
Strunk of Stroudsburg and Samuel Strunk Jr. of East Stroudsburg; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday Feb. 13, at William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Russell E. Walters officiating. Burial will follow in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
