KORNMAYER - In Reno, Jan 16, 1957 George A. Kornmayer of 530 Stewart St. husband of Mrs. Clara L. Kornmayer of Reno, stepfather of Robert H. Bonnifield, Vallejo, Calif., nephew of Mrs. Preston B. Smith and William Sauer of Reno. Friends are invited to attend funeral services, Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the O’Brien-Rogers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mountain View cemetery.
Reno Resident Many Years Dies
George A. Kornmayer, 74, a resident of Reno since he was a small boy, died Wednesday night at his home at 530 Stewart St.
For 25 years Mr. Kornmayer was the owner and operator of the National Meat Market here, and later was employed by the Washoe county road department until his retirement about five years ago.
A native of Oakdale, Calif. he early moved to Reno and received his education in the Reno schools. His mother was the late Mary Sauer Kornmayer of the pioneer Sauer family of Washoe Valley.
Mr. Kornmayer was one of the champion riders of the old Reno Wheelman’s Club.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Clara L. Kornmayer, of Reno; a stepson, Robert H. Bonnifield of Vallejo, Calif.; an aunt, Mrs. Preston Smith, and an uncle, William Sauer, both of Reno, and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the O’Brien-Rogers Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow for George A. Kornmayer, who died Wednesday night at his home at 530 Stewart St. He was 74 years old, and had lived in Reno most of his life.

G.A. Kornmayer Funeral Held
Funeral services were held for George A. Kornmayer at the O’Brien-Rogers chapel at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. John T. Ledger of the Trinity Episcopal church officiating.
Acting as pall bearers were: honorary - Ernest Kleppe, George Harris, Louie Seitz, J.P. Hart, Carl Nyberg and Gordon Harris; active - William Daniels, Ernest Gray, Arthur Tunnison, John Revilacqua, Ralph Hagar and C.H. Dascombe.
Music was by Mrs. Elenore Chabot, organist, and Mrs. Adeline O’Shaugnessy, soloist, who sang “Sometime We’ll Understand,” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere”. Burial was in Mountain View cemetery.

George Kormeyer and Miss Hazel Doyle were married last night at 10 o’clock at the home of the groom, 208 Third street, Rev. Mr. Unsworth pronouncing them husband and wife. The ceremony was very private, but six members of the groom’s family and friends being present. After a tasty repast the couple left on the late train for San Francisco, where they will spend their honeymoon for a week, returning to make their home in Reno.
The Episcopalian ring service was used. The bride is a young lady held in high regard in and about Reno, while the groom is a well known and popular young business man of this city, being connected with the Reno Meat Company. He is an active member of the Wheelmen’s Club and relay team.

Reno Man and Sparks Girl Now Man and Wife
George Kornmayer, well known Reno butcher, and Miss Clara Bonnifield of Sparks were united in mirriage [sic] Saturday by a ceremony performed by Judge Thomas S. Moran in the district courtroom.
The couple left for Watsonville, where they will spend a few days honeymooning before returning to Reno where they will make their residence.
