Karla Kornmayer passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Chico, California on October 9, 2005. She was 50 years old. Karla Kornmayer was born on January 2, 1955 in Reno, Nevada, one of twin girls born to William and Kathryn Kornmayer. Karla is survived by her son, Brian Kishpaugh and his wife, Jennilee and her two beautiful grandchildren, Emma and Andrew all of Salt Lake City, Utah; her mother Kathryn Kornmayer of Chico, California; and her twin sister Karen K. Wies who resides in Tyler, Texas with Karla's brother-in-law, Randy Wies and their three children, Bridgette, Jaimie and Jonathan. Karla is also survived by her faithful companion, Homer, a terrier-mix dog. Karla was preceded in death by her beloved father Bill Kornmayer and paternal grandmother Ona Landrum. Karla was raised and educated in Reno, Nevada and graduated from the University of Utah in the bio logical sciences. Karla received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University Of Utah School Of Medicine in 1982. Karla spent many years caring for her patients and practicing medicine and medical review in Salt Lake City, Utah, Baltimore, Maryland and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Karla will be remembered for her bright spirit, quick wit and her competitive nature. Her family will have a private memorial service for Karla and asks that donations be given to the Butte Hu mane Society, United Cerebral Palsy or the charity of your choice in care of Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home, 680 Camellia Way, Chico, CA 95926.
