82, died Saturday, July 24, 1999 in the Veterans Hospital in Reno, Nevada after a short illness.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in McLucas Cemetery. Whitner-Evans Funeral Home is in charge.
Born June 9, 1917, he was a son of the late James Howard and Zoe Wetmar Stackhouse. He was a retired Master Sergeant of the U.S. Marine Corps Air Wing having served from 1941-1968. He served four peacetime tours in Japan and was in combat service in the Pacific Theater in World War II, and in the Korean Conflict. He also served a tour in Vietnam.
Surviving are his sisters, Phyllis Stackhouse McDonald of Clio and Virginia Stackhouse Hinson of Bennettsville; and several nieces and nephews.
