Attorney Leslie Reid Dead At 66
Leslie Reid, Lima attorney and civic leader, died at 11:55 this morning in Memorial Hospital an hour and a half after he was admitted as an emergency medical patient. He was 66.

Mr. Reid was a past president of the Lima Rotary Club, past president of the Lima Open Forum, a vice president of the Association of Commerce, chairman of the Community development Committee and a member of the Lima School Advisory Board.

He also was president of the Lima Recreation Board and a member of Shawnee Country Club, and the Allen County, Ohio State and American Bar Associations.

Born July 3, 1891 at Paterson, N.J., he was married to the former Mary E. Parmenter Sept. 19, 1923 in Lima. He had four children William L. Reid of Jackson, Mich., Harriet R. Moseley of Seattle, Wash., Mary Lou Johnson of Granville and David P. Reid who preceded him in death.

He attended public schools in Paterson, Dunkirk, N.Y., and Schenectady, N.Y. After attending Schenectady High School he was graduated from Cornell University at Ithaca, N.Y. During World War I, he served as a first lieutenant with Company E of the 168th Infantry. He was a member of the law firm of Reid and Davison.

Funeral arrangements under the direction of Chiles and Son Funeral Home are incomplete.

Reid Funeral Service Set Saturday

Funeral arrangement have been completed in Lima for Leslie Reid, 66, attorney, who died yesterday at Memorial Hospital.

Rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard E. Bloom officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Reid died 1 1/2 hours after being rushed to the hospital as an emergency medical patient.

Active in Lima civic and social affairs for many years, Mr. Reid was a past president of the Lima Rotary Club, past president of the Lima Open Forum, a vice president of the Association of Commerce, chairman of the Community Development Committee and a member of the Lima School Advisory Committee.

He was born in Paterson, N.J. and attended public schools in Paterson, and Dunkirk, and Schenectady, N.Y. He was graduated from Cornell University.

Mr. Reid was a World War I veteran.

He was a member of the Lima law firm of Reid and Davison, which has handled many major legal matters in this area.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary E. Parmenter, of Paterson, N.J.

Funeral arrangements were completed by Chiles and Son Funeral Home.

The body will be removed to the church at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and will remain there for services.

Pallbearers will be Robert F. Galvin, J. L. Crouse, James Blair, Willard P. Dudley, John R. Evans, Wendell Stewart, Edward Potter, and Rex Settlemire.

Honorary pallbearers are John H. Davison, F. Wemmer Gooding, Paul T. Landis, Cary R. May, C. C. Shutt, Robert J. Plate, John Galvin, A. D. McDonell, Robert McDonald, Allan P. Harter, Homer H. Hughes, Dr. H. C. Weisenbarger, Theodore H. Harvey, and William Foulks.
