Daughter of Clyde & Hyla Warner Blackmon. Gwendolyn's first husband was Albert Johnson, whom she married on September 20, 1940 in Farmersville, NY. On October 20, 1951 in Delevan, NY she married William McGill, who died January 9, 1990.

Mrs. McGill attended Rushford High School & worked for the Electrical Reactance and the Market Basket in Franklinville, NY for several years. Later she worked as a cook & waitress at the Park Grill & the Conservation Club in Franklinville, NY. She was a member & past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #626 of Franklinville, NY & was a life time member of the VFW Post #9487 Auxiliary of Franklinville, NY.

Surviving, are a son, Darrell (Patricia) Johnson of Helendale, CA.; a daughter, Susan (William) Fuller of Bliss, NY; a step daughter, Patricia (W.H.) Morris of Loris, SC; 2 step sons, Tom McGill of Chili, NY & Gary McGill of Bryn Mawr, PA; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Phyllis (Royal) Preston of Franklinville, NY & Vera (Milton) Pierce of Sardinia, NY; several nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Barry Johnson in 1948; a grandson, Jeremy Johnson; & a sister, Marilynne (Molly) Pennell.

Funeral arrangements were made by Babbitt & Easton Funeral Home in Franklinville. A private memorial service was held at the funeral home with the Rev. David Fisher of the Franklinville Free Methodist Church officiating. 87y
