George O. Danielson, age 89, of Wenatchee died with his family at his side on Wednesday, January 26, 2005. Born on November 8, 1915, in Renton, Washington, his family moved to Othello, Washington in 1918, where they homesteaded. George attended Corfu Elementary School and Othello High School. As a young man, he worked on the construction of Grand Coulee Dam, and he was a surveyor for the Bonneville Power Administration. He served his country in World War II in the Combat Engineers in North Africa, Sicily, and Italy. After the war, he worked for Boeing Aircraft and married Burmah Coffman on December 10, 1949. He moved his family to Othello in 1954, where he developed a farm west of Othello on what is now known as Danielson Road. He retired in 1984, and moved to Wenatchee, where he lived until his death.
He was active in the Masonic Order and was Worthy Grand Patron of the Eastern Star. He was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church and served as an elder in the Othello Presbyterian Church and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wenatchee. He is survived by his wife, Burmah, of Wenatchee; son James Danielson and his wife Carol, of Wenatchee, daughter Carol Anderson and her husband Dennis of Yelm, daughter Helen Schreiber and her husband Paul of Medical Lake, daughter Shirley Danielson of Seattle; grandchildren Kristen Hawes of Bothell, Kari Kube of Wenatchee, Drew Danielson of Seattle Laura Parpart of Kenmore, Eric Anderson of Kingston, Traci Somers of Algona, and Tara Mallow of Newman Lake; great-grandchildren Brendon and Avery Hawes, Nason Kube Gavin George, Caitlynn and Alexander Parpart, Garrett Anderson, Trent, Logan and Noah Somers; brothers Larry Danielson of Federal Way, Bob Danielson of Yakima, Herman Danielson of Moses Lake, and Luke Danielson of Kennewick.
He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Edla Danielson, brother Walter Danielson, and sister Elsie Evans.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate George's life on Sunday, January 30, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Wenatchee, with Pastor Dr. Geoff Brown officiating. Internment will be at the Bess Hampton Memorial Cemetery in Othello, WA on Monday, January 31, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Townsend officiating. Visitation at Jones & Jones Funeral Home Saturday 9:00-5:00, Sunday 9:00-1:00.
